Dr Devan Mahadavan is an imaging cardiologist with a clinical and research interest in heart failure and valvular heart disease.
After graduating from Adelaide’s Flinders University in 1997 he completed his clinical cardiology training at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
He then spent three years in the United Kingdom and Brisbane completing his post-graduate and fellowship training in cardiac imaging, which includes all forms of echocardiography, cardiac MRI and cardiac CT.
He holds Level 3 accreditation for both echocardiography and cardiac MRI and Level A accreditation for cardiac CT.
Dr Mahadavan has worked as a specialist cardiologist heading cardiac imaging at Adelaide’s Queen Elizabeth and Lyell McEwin Hospitals. He has also worked at Royal Adelaide Hospital as an imaging cardiologist. In 2015 he was accepted as a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology.
Dr Mahadavan has a strong interest in valvular heart disease and has been invited to speak about the subject at conferences in Australia and abroad. He is committed to implementing advanced imaging technologies into his daily practice.
