Dr Rajesh Kanna is the founder and director of Global Cardiology and remains actively involved in the day-to-day care of our patients. He specialises in Interventional Cardiology and has a great deal of experience in Radial Access Coronary Angiography.
Dr Kanna is responsible for introducing two significant initiatives at Fremantle Hospital: the day case intervention concept and radial access acute angioplasty and stenting procedures.
Dr Kanna’s interests include structural heart disease management, right heart catheterisation, heart failure and cardiac risk assessment and management.
After graduating from Bangalore University in 1996, Dr Kanna completed his physician training in the UK and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1999. He then relocated to Australia where he specialised in cardiology, training at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide and Fremantle Hospital in Perth.
Dr Kanna completed his Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Alberta Hospital in Canada, where he performed over 500 interventional procedures.
In 2015 he opened the first Global Cardiology clinic in Murdoch, with the goal of making high quality cardiac care affordable for all Perth patients.
